PE Washing and Recycling — From Plastic Waste to Quality Recycled Pellets
Our washing and recycling line transforms post-consumer and post-industrial polyethylene (PE) waste into clean, consistent recycled pellets. By combining thorough washing, effective separation and EREMA extrusion technology, we prepare recovered plastics for use in new products.

1. Material Intake and Sorting
Incoming PE waste, including films, bottles and containers, is fed into the line and sorted to remove non-PE materials and other unwanted components. This step prepares the feedstock for efficient processing.
2. Pre-Washing
An initial washing stage removes coarse contaminants such as dirt, sand, loose labels and product residues. Water and mechanical agitation help loosen impurities and reduce the contamination load on downstream equipment.
3. Shredding and Size Reduction
The material is shredded into smaller, more uniform pieces, improving handling and allowing more effective cleaning during subsequent washing stages.
4. Intensive Washing and Separation
The shredded material passes through a series of washing and separation stages to remove remaining contaminants, including adhesives, oils and fine particles. Friction washing, agitation and density-based separation help produce a cleaner PE fraction for further processing.
5. Drying
Mechanical dewatering and thermal drying reduce residual moisture in the washed material, preparing it for stable extrusion and consistent pellet quality.
6. Extrusion and Pelletising
The clean, dried PE material is processed in our EREMA extrusion system. Melt filtration and double degassing help remove residual impurities, moisture and volatile substances before the polymer is converted into recycled pellets.
7. Quality Control
Quality checks throughout the process monitor material cleanliness, moisture and consistency. Final product testing verifies the properties of the recycled pellets against the relevant product specifications.
8. Process Waste Management
Contaminants and other residual materials are separated and collected for appropriate treatment, recovery or disposal. Responsible management of these streams supports the overall efficiency and environmental performance of our recycling process.
Through this integrated approach, we turn PE waste into a valuable secondary raw material, supporting circular production and reducing reliance on virgin plastics.
