Several multinational FMCG and retail companies recently announced new commitments to achieve 100% recyclable, reusable, or compostable packaging by 2035.
The initiative covers:
- Transition from multilayer films to mono-material structures;
- Increased integration of certified recyclate in primary packaging;
- Investment in take-back programs and advanced packaging design;
- Collaborative partnerships with recyclers to secure stable supply of high-quality rPE and rPP.
These commitments are expected to reshape market dynamics, particularly in Europe where brand owners are under increasing pressure to comply with EPR schemes and reduce their environmental footprint.
